Lucy Curtis (nee Norfolk) has always loved music, dancing and drama from a young age and was in her first production of “Follow the Star” at the age of thirteen. She realized how much she loved performing and decided to make it her career, going on to study Theatre Arts at college which included a tour of “Romeo and Juliet” in India at the age of nineteen.
Lucy then went on to study Acting and Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy in London where she combined her love of musical theatre and straight drama. After graduating, Lucy worked in touring companies, pantomime and residential children’s theatre where she was principal performer and Company Manager. She also managed to fit in a season at Butlins as a Redcoat, performing a variety of tasks and performance and also making an appearance on Channel 4s “The Big Breakfast”.
After the birth of her children, Rosie and Joe, Lucy worked predominantly in sales and customer service. She decided she wanted to make a career out of teaching young children music, dance and drama and was an Early Stages Teacher for Stagecoach for 3 years. This gave her the opportunity to find a more permanent teaching role and she found MAD Academy to be the perfect solution!
Lucy has always taken her children to music and dance classes, something they still do today, and she feels very passionate about children being introduced to music and dancing at a very young age. She believes MAD Academy supports the learning young children receive in their early years, but offers a fun and lively environment to learn in. The classes offer something for all children and they are encouraged to express themselves in a safe and exciting environment.
