Thanks to all who came to the MAD Academy Conference 2012 and made it such a positive atmosphere, despite lots of coughs and colds! It was really good to see so many of you and we hope you found it a valuable and enjoyable day.

It was a packed day! Our theme this year was ‘Party Party’ and there was certainly a party atmosphere as Trish took us through the wealth of new party material. Franchisees got to try out lots of new songs and games with their brand new Ralph the bears.

If that wasn’t enough, as well as the normal termly training, we covered a huge amount of new class resources, had an update on the website, were introduced to the new Early Learning Goals, heard about some new customer incentive schemes and discussed how to manage and market your parties.

And then there was of course the traditional Highlights presentation, this year delivered by Sedge.

The Business Update culminated in this year’s awards. Congratulations go to Sophie Hill for the Business Development Award and to Debbie Mason for Franchisee of the Year. Elaine Edmondson was presented with a Special Recognition award, as was Trish Nawacki. There were also awards for Kirstie and Karen who reached their 3 year anniversaries.

We finished off the day in usual MAD style with our surprise team activity. This year we all got urban and tried our hand at street dance. We might have had the swag, but our streetcred was dented slightly by the sparkly neon leg warmers and head bands!

It’s really important that you read the notes from the day as we covered so many important things which all franchisees must know! Please go to the Conference 2012 page to find out what went on in more detail.

Actions for YOU!

  1. Read the Conference 2012 page thoroughly
  2. There are 133 separate new resources for you to download for your classes and parties – make sure you look carefully through all the material so you know what is there.
  3. There are 2 new customer incentive schemes – Pawsome Points and Class Credits which you can choose to implement. The marketing materials are now available to purchase from the on-line shop and there is a guide on how to use them in the marketing section of the resources.
  4. You will be given two new website pages at the end of the week for your nursery and birthday parties. Once they are live, you will need to check them, amend/personalise them and continue to maintain them.
