Debs Newman has had music in her life from a very early age, since the days when she wrapped herself in net curtains and sang into a hairbrush.
Frankly this behaviour (enthusiasm!) has continued unchecked into her adult life where she has been a professional singer in the UK and Europe playing gigs and recording for TV and Radio.
The onset of parenthood brought with it a host of new musical opportunities in the shape of her joy of sharing music with her three children, a joy she soon realised had wider appeal than her own home.
In the last three years Debs has developed wide ranging experience in music for pre-schoolers from singing clubs to choirs and structured classes.
To encourage the next generation of hairbrush howlers, Debs is delighted to be with MAD Academy, which her experience and expertise lead her to believe to be a quality, fun, learning experience for kids and parents alike.
Debs runs MAD Academy in the Guildford and Farnham areas. Visit Deb’s Guildford timetable or her Farnham timetable to find a suitable class.

Testimonials
As you may be aware we have only just taken over this nursery, so having Jo coming in was all very new to our children. I couldn't fault Jo in her work and she has really brought some of our quieter children out of themselves, so that they know enjoy and look forward to these sessions. We have had great feedback from our parents, and one parent even stopped Jo before she came in today thanked her and said how much her child now enjoys music, and now has a great wiggle on him, which she again put down to Jo. Jo is a real asset to your team, and we are very lucky to have her.

"We have been particularly impressed with Debs response to our request for a ‘MAD’ group to be set up specifically for children with additional needs. This has proved to be very successful which I believe is entirely due to Debs’ flexibility in adapting her repertoire to meet the needs of the children attending. It is wonderful to see the children engaging in activities in their own individual ways and knowing that their parents feel at ease and relaxed during these sessions."

"Sunflowers Children Centre loves MAD Academy. It is very popular with our families, and provides a great opportunity for social and physical development. All the children (and parents) really enjoy the sessions and keep coming back for more. Debs is full of energy and the range of activities makes the sessions vibrant and engaging but most of all great fun!"

"Bethan really looks forward to going to MAD (and so do I). The class is very welcoming, full of energy and a fun learning environment. With a relaxed attitude the more 'hands-on' games are easy to get involved with as a Dad.The classes are action packed, with a lot of variety so are interesting throughout. Basically you are free to enjoy the class without feeling silly!"

"To be honest I think the classes are fabulous. Turning up for the first time to one of your classes, I was astonished with the development he has made and I think that’s largely due to the enthusiasm, rapport and fun you have with the kids. Ryan loves the bubbles in particular, and now keeps doing the songs and actions even at home."

I thought Saturday's Dad's session was a great idea as we don't get to interact with our young ones in situations like that on a regular basis if at all. Although a similar format to your usual weekday events, I thought it worked very well and inhibitions were lost during the first song after the introductions. The breaks between songs with the children and them gathering to get toys etc. out of bags was good as it gave us a rest! It was also a good way to strike up a conversation with someone you might then bump into while wandering around town or in the park. Good fun and I hope you do them again as I will certainly come.'
