Maggie Duerden

Maggie has had a passion for music for as long as she can remember and started singing in church choirs when she was five, going on to become Head Choir Girl. Some of her fondest childhood memories are singing and dancing around the house to her dad’s old LPs. Since then she has sung in several semi-professional bands around the South East and recently moved into musical theatre.

Whilst working as a PA/Administrator Maggie dreamt of escaping the ties of office life. The birth of her son, Alfie, prompted her to find an enjoyable career that involved music and would fit around her family.

Maggie has always believed in the power of music and is overjoyed to be a part of the MAD Academy team. She loves the fun, free-spirited approach to learning that MAD Academy classes offer, and is thrilled to be able to introduce children (and parents) to the magic of self-expression through movement and dance.

Testimonials

"Thank you so much for doing such a great party for us. Rosie absolutely loved it, as did all her friends who are still talking about it."

Roise's mum

"Thank you for helping to make Tom’s party go with such a swing. The children really enjoyed your music and games and, most importantly, it was so lovely to see Tom joining in and having so much fun. I don’t know where you get your energy! So many parents commented on how great you were."

Tom's mum

"Thank you so much for coming and being MAD at our party on Saturday. You and Ralph were fabulous and completely made the party."

One happy mum!

"A huge thank you for an amazing party on Saturday afternoon. Daisy and her friends had a wonderful time, and you did such a GREAT job of engaging the children and getting then to join in and have fun."

"You were an absolute life saver when I first arrived to be full time carer for Christian and we never looked back. It just seemed to be better as time went on and Christian grew older and more confident. One of the main reasons for the joy of your lessons is YOU - you have a wonderful and immediate rapport with the babies and children (and this grandma). Equally the classes are fun, extremely well planned, with learning thrown in as well - what more could I have wanted."

Christian’s Granma

"Wonderful variety of topics, toys and songs. Definitely the best class we do!"

Happy MAD Mum

"Great variety, it keeps moving and they don't get bored - so don't change anything! It's the highlight of our week."

Mum to Amy (20 months)

"We love MAD Academy! I like all the varying sections of each class and my daughter is always buzzing on MAD Academy day, smiling, singing and doing the actions all day. She's always pointing at her T-shirt saying 'MAD Academy'."

Mum to Elizabeth

"I have to say that I really do like the energy of the sessions - things seem to happen in a much more natural way, more educational and heaps more fun than any other classes that we've tried. It's FAB!"

Mum to Charlie

"We're looking forward to the next MAD Academy session already, although my friends seem to think that I probably enjoy it more than the babes do as I am always telling them what we've been up to in the sessions!!!!!"

Happy MAD Mum

"We love the sessions and I think that the one this week was the best one ever!!! The things you do are so inspiring. I've been telling anyone who will listen about the skipping ropes game and the different things we did with the rope and then ending with making a rainbow (it was so sweet when they all put the ropes together to make the rainbow that I almost cried!!)."

Charlie's Mum

"Thank you so much for all the fun dancing and singing. We have really enjoyed MAD".
