MAD Academy is the perfect blend of music and dance for young children. Our classes are packed with music, movement, rhythm and dance.
Music
We are always singing! Our songs are varied – some new, some old – but all arranged in our very own funky style. There are lots of instruments to play and explore in every class, and each week we introduce children to different styles of music. Our fun listening games are always a big hit with the children as we start to develop their early musicality.
Movement
We always begin with a fast and funky warm up to get everyone up and energised and ready for some fun! With our weekly ‘Motor Madness’ activities, we focus on developing a key gross or fine motor skill with fascinating and creative props, often with much hilarity! Classes are also full of physical games perfect for running off that excess energy!
Dance
We love to dance! With over 100 professionally choreographed dances and routines to enjoy, it’s a party atmosphere every week! We explore a wide variety of dance styles and there are lots of opportunities to be physically creative and imaginative, developing children’s co-ordination, control, and sequencing skills.
Rhythm
Learning to hear and beat a rhythm is essential to both music and movement. It also has an important role to play in other areas of brain development. That’s why we always include fun activities designed to develop children’s beat competency in every class. We teach children to feel, hear and move to all different types of musical rhythms.
MAD Academy specialise in music and dance because we understand it plays an integral part in children’s happiness and growth. It also helps them to learn by engaging the whole body and activating multiple parts of the brain at once – it’s the way children are made to learn.
