MAD Academy Babies

Music and Movement

At MAD Academy we recognize the importance of music and movement to the well being of children and believe it should be an integral part of childhood. Not only does singing and dancing bring huge joy to children, who are naturally creative and energetic, it also enhances their mental, social and physical development. And it is never too early to start experiencing the pleasure and power of music! To read more about the amazing benefits of music and dance, click here>>>

Classes are packed full of nursery rhymes and songs babies will adore, such as Wiggly Woo, Hush Little Baby and Down at the Station! The catchy rhythms and rhymes of the songs will soon get your babies burbling along, whilst encouraging their all important speech development. At the same time the carefully choreographed actions will stimulate baby’s physical awareness and develop their muscle control and coordination.

Let's Start to Sign

Signing is a great way to encourage a baby’s burgeoning communication skills and vocabulary. That is why in every class there will also be a fun and engaging section devoted to teaching parents and babies a range of useful signs. With the help of specially written songs, you and your baby will soon master key signs based around a baby’s daily routine which you can use at home. Explore and Learn

Within every MAD Academy session, babies also have the opportunity to explore and play with a plethora of exciting props, carefully chosen to engage their natural inquisitiveness, teach them about the world around them and improve their fine and gross motor skills.

Instruments Galore

Each week babies will get the chance to excite their curiosity by exploring our colourful musical instruments. Trish Nawacki, who runs MAD Academy baby classes in Reading and Newbury always finds this element of the class a huge hit! ‘Musical instruments are always a big favourite in class and are met with smiles and squeals of delight each week.’

Stimulating Those Senses

We know how important a baby’s senses are in helping them to learn. That is why in each class there is a range of stimulating sensory activities introducing the babies to a world of discovery! Trish particularly enjoys watching the reactions of the babies during these activities: ‘The sensory activities are fantastic! The babies love listening to all the different sounds and exploring the feely bags. They are always absolutely fascinated by the bubbles and giggle with delight when they burst!'
